Weaning Tips

Over the past 10 months, we've been on our weaning journey with Hipp Organic and time has seriously flown! Grace is now 14 months and when we started out, weaning felt like a lifetime away! It's been an amazing journey and one that has inspired me to educate myself further in the form of a nutrition course, focusing on children.

I remember being petrified of weaning before we began; but honestly, there is nothing at all to worry about to all of those new mums out there! Weaning is fun, very messy but exciting. Each stage brings joy to their little faces and it's great viewing.

As our time with HiPP Organic draws to a close, the Wean Team have reflected on the past 10 months to combine our tips and feelings on weaning as a whole. You can see Grace's hilarious face there whilst trying watermelon for the first time.

There is no need to rush weaning so if you're starting your journey and don't know where to begin, just slow it down. The first tastes of food was voted by 55% of us as our favourite stage of weaning. Once they gained independence and began to feed themselves it brought a whole new excitement to the journey. Grace is now slowly feeding herself with a spoon/spork and I can't wait to see how she develops with it over the next few months.

The Wean Team voted cheese as their babies favourite flavour; which although Grace cannot experience yet in its true form, she loves fake cheese just as much! Cheesy pasta is by far her favourite meal and she normally has this at dinner time, as it's the quickest and easiest meal to prepare from scratch when I've had a busy day.

HiPP has the biggest assortment in baby food, with more than 140 products including milks, cereals, pouches, tray meals and jars, covering every stage of baby's development. As experts in organic baby food, HiPP knows the importance of eating tasty, wholesome food, using only the finest ingredients full of nutrious goodness. If you're beginning your weaning journey, HiPP have some useful tips to help you if you're weaning your little one.

Their guide helped me out a lot when we first started and I found I instantly grew in confidence by researching as much as I could about weaning before and during the journey.

My main tip is simply to relax in those early days! Weaning is so fun and as anxious as I was to begin with, I really don't know why!

How have you found weaning? Did you little one take to food well?
