Grace's 12 Month Update

It's been quite a while since I updated you on Grace's developments, so what better time than her first birthday than to let you know how she's doing. It's crazy how quickly time flies and I know I've said it before, but honestly an entire year has just gone in a blink of an eye.

Overall, Grace is doing amazingly and I'm so proud of what she's achieved so far in her little life.

Milk allergy

Weaning has been going great ever since she started at 4 1/2 months due to her horrific reflux and CMPA (cows milk protein allergy). Grace is still dairy free completely and once her symptoms are under control, we can begin the milk ladder to see how she gets on. Her skin is still very bad with eczema so we need to find out the root cause of that before we irritate it further unnecessarily.
She is now on Alpro Soya Milk Junior for 1-3 year olds twice a day, which is great for me as I don't need to smell the horrible Neocate LCP anymore!

Grace is still on omeprazole, which is a proton pump inhibitor, it's the same medication that her dad is on for life unfortunately, so I'm hoping she doesn't follow the same path! The omeprazole is brilliant for keeping her chronic sickness at bay, but as soon as we stop it, she begins to vomit frequently daily again. We are discharged from the hospital now as they believe it's of no concern... so we're having to manage it (and guess!) ourselves what the next step is.

It's been the best year of my life and I can't wait to see how the next year update unfolds!

Hipp 'Free From' New Baby Care Range

Grace has always been a real water baby, from the moment we brought her home from hospital and gave her a bath for the very first time. Unfortunately, we soon came to realise her skin was ultra sensitive and there are very few products that we are able to use on her eczema prone skin.

I usually stick to just water and alternate every other day using prescription products that don't flare up her skin. I was excited to hear this month that Hipp Organic have launched a new skincare range, suitable for even the most ultra-sensitive skin! Hooray! The entire range is 100% Free-From which means that there are no nasties, parabens and PEG and best of all, it's a tear-free formula.

The range consists of:

- Goodnight Baby Bath

- Foaming Hand Wash (and refill)

- Head to Toe Baby Wash

- Baby Shampoo

We have tested all the products out thoroughly and have even brought it back home with us whilst we've had an emergency trip away. The range is now available in selected Tesco stores to buy and you can read more information about the range on their site here.

The range has the same mild scent, which still doesn't flare up sensitive skin and lingers for a little while afterwards too. Great for that freshly clean baby smell post-bath.

The Goodnight Baby Bath with added calm has a lovely sandalwood scent which is great as I hate the usual lavender scents, which also usually reacts badly with Grace's skin.

Grace's favourite product, unsurprisingly, is the duck Foaming Hand Wash dispenser. It's a great way of introducing hand washing to little ones and I love that refills are available to purchase separately, it's only a bargain £1.99!

Overall I've been really impressed with the whole range and you can tell a lot of thought has gone into producing it. Hipp have kindly given me the chance to offer one of my lovely readers a chance to win a hamper including some products from the range to try yourself!

All you have to do is enter the below form and the competition is only open to UK residents. Good luck everyone and if you've already tried the range, let me know what you think about it!
