Grace's First Movements

As we're about to head into our 10th month together, I thought I'd share with you an update about Grace and how she's been advancing since my last update. She's officially on the move now and there's nothing stopping her.

Grace is crawling properly, after a couple of months of doing some sort of worm movement across the floor - still worked a treat though! She's been able to 'walk' with hands or a walker for a while now and hasn't really progressed to make any attempts at walking on her own. We noticed that once Grace was on the move she definitely became much hungrier. We increased the amount of snacks that she has throughout the day, and offered more water/milk as appropriate.

She is also constantly pulling herself up on anything that is stable for a second, whether it be the cats, or myself! Poor cats..

As you know, I'm working alongside Hipp Organic and their nutritionist Helen to guide us towards a healthy diet. HiPP Organic has a really useful guide on their website about nutrition. It includes useful pointers for keeping your LO healthy. Thankfully, Grace has an amazing appetite so eating more was never really an issue for her. She can nearly keep up with her daddy's appetite!

We have increased the amount of snacks that Grace is having too, her favourites are blueberries, watermelon and raisins - all can be rather messy! In my changing bag I keep an emergency supply of pouches, just in case we end up staying out for longer than anticipated. As always, Hipp save the day with their pouches.

All HiPP Organic baby foods are made with the finest organic ingredients which are tested for up to 1,200 different pollutants, prior to being accepted for use in the production process. As a result, only flawless organic ingredients are used in HiPP’s products providing the best possible quality food for all babies & young children. Family beliefs and values embody HiPP Organic, who are instinctively organic and have been for over 60 years. HiPP believe in organic for a better legacy, using farming techniques that leave the soil full of nutrients for the next generation.

Wonderworld Giraffe Walker - you can buy here.
Father's Day passed just over a week ago and I unexpectedly made the first transition back into working life, which meant that Grace had to go into Daddy Day Care for 2 days whilst I worked. She didn't mind one bit and was in fairly safe hands. This giraffe walker has been amazing for helping her with her first steps and she's gained so much more self confidence!

It's a gorgeous wooden walker which makes a change from the current multi-coloured plastic toys taking up my lounge right now! Although we haven't tried it on laminate flooring, it works brilliantly on carpet and there is a cog to stop the wheels going too fast.

The good thing about this stage in Grace's development, is the longer naps and sleeping through at night! At last..hoorah!

Did you find that your little one's ate and slept better once they were more mobile? Fingers crossed the sleep part lasts!

  1. Oh she is too cute! The giraffe walker is gorgeous, and we have found it really stable and perfect for those first steps. Eliza loves watermelon and blueberries too!
