If you don't follow me on Twitter/Instagram then you may not know my recent exciting news. We got kittens! They are the cutest little things and they've took up so much of our time training and making sure that they're happy. We are totally in love and we've both wanted kittens forever but unfortunately my Dad was allergic and my parents definitely wouldn't have said yes anyway!

Now that we have our own space, we decided to get 2 as they are indoor cats and didn't want them to be bored or feel lonely. They are very playful and already have changed so much over the past week since we got them.

Their names are Thor (the smooth one) and Leo (the fluffy one). Although we had a slight shock when we took them to the vets to be checked over and found out that instead of being 2 little boys, Thor is actually a girl..The name kind of just stuck but sometimes we call her Thora. It's so difficult to change their names once we'd already got used to it!

Our routine has been completely thrown off and every spare second has been devoted to them, but don't worry I will be back soon with more updates.

It's only 2 weeks away until my Louise Constad Make Up Artist course and I'm so excited, but nervous to be away from home in an area I don't know!

I hope you're all well and enjoying Halloween. I can't believe it's November tomorrow! Christmas will soon be here...

Current Beauty Favourites

I can't believe we're officially in Autumn. Summer is more than over and we can now start looking forward to boots, cold clothing and weather. Not to mention Christmas! I've been loving changing up my usual beauty products for Autumn/Winter shades and scents and these are my current favourites.

Daisy Dream was a recent addition to my perfume collection that I got for my birthday and I love it! It's such a fresh, fruity and sweet smell, which isn't particularly Wintery but I love it all the same. It doesn't last very long on me which is disappointing as Marc Jacobs Daisy lasted a good 8-10 hours on me.

Nuxe Reve de Miel doesn't need much introduction as I declared my love for the lip balm in my previous post but it doesn't get enough love as it should!

Maybelline Color Elixir is yet another new addition that I've been loving over the last few weeks. Long term readers will know I don't like lip glosses, especially thin consistency and tacky ones but this is just right. The shade I have is 110 Hibiscus Haven. It's a very pretty blue based pink which lasts around 3-4 hours and leaves a hint of a stain behind. The formula is way better than I expected and it was on 2 for £10 at Boots!

Last but not least is the Revlon Colorstay Moisture Stain. I really wanted to try this for a while but is another product that I dismissed due to the hype. I'd never really thought of trying it until girls at work urged me to, and it doesn't take much for me to succumb..

The shade featured is Barcelona Nights but I also have Rio Rush. Both colours are very pretty with Barcelona Nights being very Autumnal due to the dark shade, on fairer skin tones such as mine, it looks even darker. I also want to try India Intrigue which is very similar to Barcelona Nights but darker and more of a berry shade.

In terms of wear time it lasts around 3-4 hours, depending on how much I eat or drink in this time, but it isn't long lasting on me. There isn't much of a shade left behind with the 2 shades I own but I can imagine there is with the darker shades. Overall I find the formula quite moisturising and more of a lip gloss texture with a lipstick and lip gloss hybrid finish. I probably wouldn't re-purchase as there's better products out there but great shades overall.

What are your current favourites? What do you think I should try next?

Nuxe Reve de Miel 20th Anniversary

Nuxe Reve de Miel
Nuxe Reve de Miel Lip Balm - 20th Anniversary Edition - Currently £6.33 @ Lookfantastic Red / Yellow
It isn't often that I re-purchase products over and over again but this product is one of them. As I suffer from dry, chapped lips year round, it's important to me to keep them moisturised at all times.

Nuxe Reve de Miel was a product I first tried over 2 years ago now and it was love at first try. Since then it's lasted me all that time - of daily use too! When I recently looked to finally re-purchase, I noticed that it's actually their 20th Anniversary and to celebrate they have a few special coloured lids and packaging. Of course, I went for the red option (closest to my favourite colour pink) but there is also yellow and green available.

If you haven't tried Reve de Miel before, the lip balm is a very thick consistency, which I usually wear overnight as it's a bit too thick for daytime use underneath lip products. I'm not a huge fan of the honey and lemon scent but it soon fades when applied. I will be sure to continue to re-purchase this, along with Burts Bees Beeswax lip balm, this is my Holy Grail lip balm.

They are all selling out real fast at their current promotional price of £6.33 with free worldwide delivery from Lookfantastic. It'd be silly to miss out so I suggest you all buy one now while they're still in stock!

What's your favourite lip balm? Do you have any tips for dry, chapped lips?

Beauty Haul

In the last few weeks I've picked up quite a few treats since it was my birthday, except I went a bit far and got way too many things. I also got a Dior lipstick which I have left somewhere so unfortunately can't show you that today!

The top left is the well known Nars Laguna Bronzer. After much, much deliberation I finally caved and just decided to buy it when HQ Hair had 10% off Nars in September. So far I have loved it, but it's not quite as dark as I expected so maybe with my tiny Mexican tan I will have to wait a few more weeks to be able to fully use it.

Next to that is the Maybelline Elixir in shade 110 Hibiscus Heaven. This is a-mazing. Normally I hate lipgloss and hadn't read much about it so saw the shade in Boots and grabbed it, without realising it wasn't a lipstick but in fact a lipgloss. That being said, it's not sticky, lasts quite a long team leaving a tinge of a stain and all round feels moisturising on the lips. 10/10.

Another lip product (you get the theme..) is the Maybelline Super Stay 24 Hour Bold Matte Lip Colour in 800 Glamour Pink. I swatched this in Boots and could not get this off my hand for a further 12 hours which was impressive, just not a great look on my hand! First thoughts on this are that it's quite drying on my lips, even using the balm provided and a balm underneath the lip colour, and it's a bit disappointing. The swaying feature for me was that the colour doesn't transfer which isn't 100% true, but it's better than usual.

To the right of that is my favourite and long lusted after lip product, Mac Show Orchid. Knowing it was a Pro product killed me for all that time I couldn't have it and I hunted for several dupes, finding the equally amazing Revlon Wild Orchid, but this is so long lasting! I got it from Debenhams with 10% off so that made me happy too.

Chanel Rouge Allure in 94 Extatique was a fairly impulse duty free buy, but I've not had much time to wear it yet. It's a gorgeous bright Barbie pink with a hint of fuschia. The packaging is really what made me buy it with the click down lid, overall lasts a few hours without eating or drinking and isn't as long lasting as I'd hoped. Maybe I'm expecting too much?

Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Permanent Taupe has been on my list for a while too and hasn't disapointed. Another great shade and I love the formula of these eyeshadows. Very long lasting.

Illamasqua kindly sent me a birthday voucher so I used it wisely and got their blusher in Chased. It's a highly pigmented shade which I like to use on a daily basis, alternating between my other new purchase, the final purchase which is Nars blush in Angelika. Nars have seriously got me hooked, I want more! A beautiful shade and lasts around 5-6 hours before I have to re-apply.

I think I've bought a little too much lately, I'm going to have to slow down before my MUA course next month and try to have a no-purchase month!

What do you think of the items I've purchased, are any of these on your favourites list?

Kate Spade Cherry Lane Lacey Wallet

Kate Spade Cherry Lane Lacey Wallet
As I mentioned in my last post, I celebrated my 24th birthday whilst we were on holiday in Mexico. Although I opened most of my presents the night before we left, my Boyfriend took my birthday present with him for me to open on my actual birthday which was sweet.

I was so excited when I opened it as I've always wanted a Kate Spade purse and always lusted after them at Bicester Village and the likes, and now it is mine! So the one I've got is the Cherry Lane Lacey Wallet which is so roomy. I've managed to fit all but 3 or 4 of my cards into it, which is good going considering the amount of loyalty cards etc that I have!

It's a gorgeous bright pink, which suits me perfectly, along with the trademark polka dot on the inside lining. There is enough room for coins too but I rarely carry money, yes I am that girl paying for small items on my debit card...

I believe Ollie bought it from Nordstrom as this particular one is hard to obtain, but Kate Spade is now widely available in the UK from the Bicester Outlet, Selfridges and Westfield.

This will definitely last me a long time and I won't get bored of it for sure. Best present ever, I'm sure you will agree and I am an incredibly lucky girl!

Where have I been?

So, where have I been for the last 6 months? I took quite an unexpected hiatus due to life getting in the way, I lost motivation but I've definitely got enough inspiration from all that time so now that I'm settled I am back!

I just got back from Mexico a few days ago and so while it's fresh in my mind I thought I'd tell you all about our lovely holiday (along with the dreaded blues!). We went to a place in Mexico near a gorgeous beach resort of Akumal in Riviera Maya and it was picturesque and I would recommend it to everyone that wants complete relaxation!

Of course, we couldn't go to Mexico without visiting Chichen Itza (1 of the 7 Wonders of the World) so we went there for my birthday, which I celebrated whilst we were out there. It was a good day as it was cloudy and not quite as humid, compared to the usual 36 degree heat with high humidity. Ouch.

The hotel we stayed at was called Bahia Principe Sian Ka'an and I would highly recommend that too, there is so much to do and see I could easily have stayed there an extra few days or week even! Those little guys that you can see on the picture above, Iguanas, were out in true force and so cute but not sure they wouldn't bite if I went to pet one of them.

Akumal beach was definitely my favourite place of all and snorkelling is my new favourite hobby! I will be back for sure one day, but for now it's time to plan my next holiday..ahh the holiday blues.

You can see more photos on my Instagram so make sure to follow me there, I'm quite active on there lately as I'm obsessed with Vsco Cam!

On another note...breaking news, I've just booked to do the Louise Constad make-up artist course - finally! I've been contemplating it for over 2 years now and the opportunity arose to do it next month so I took the bull by the horns. Very excited by that and if any of you have any hints and tips for the intensive course please let me know!

I will be back very soon with more makeup posts as I have bought a lot for my birthday plus duty free treats are the best, right?

Hope you're all doing well!
