Barry M Gelly Papaya Nail Polish Review

Barry M Gelly Papaya Nail Polish Review

Barry M Gelly Papaya Nail Polish Review
Barry M Gelly Papaya Nail Polish - £3.99 Superdrug (currently 2 for £6) |  Amazon
Now that Spring is upon us, I decided to dig out my pastel and brights nail collection and try out a new colour. Papaya is a gorgeous light coral shade that reminds me of spring. Coral is a colour I love, but not on me. I think it washes out my skin tone, especially in lipstick and blusher format. I've not fake tanned for a while but with a tan, I think this would look even prettier.

Barry M are definitely my favourite nail polish brand, in particular the Gelly range, they have all the colours I could possibly want for around £2.99-£3.99. Their brushes are a little thinner than I prefer but they're easy to work with on my narrow fingers. The range dries reasonably quickly and are of a good consistency, usually taking around 2-3 coats to get the desired opaque shade in the bottle. It chipped with a top coat on after around 3 days and is always easy to remove.

I'm hoping this colour inspires the sun to return soon too, it teased us for a couple of days and then rain returned. I've been looking at the matte range and want to try some new shades, but I have way too many nail polishes already. They're on ASOS though, plus I have a premier account...

What is your favourite spring shade? Have you tried the Barry M Gelly range?

Lipstick Tag

I recently found a new blog that I love ( and saw a tag that I thought I'd do. I haven't really done many tags in the past but this one is made for me!

1. How many lipsticks do you own?
The photo above shows the majority of my lipsticks, some still back home and in various pockets that I find. I'd guess around 50 - eek!

2. What was the first lipstick you owned?

I have no idea! Literally don't remember, it was probably lipgloss for a good few years. I remember thinking lipstick was for "grown ups" and then suddenly I dipped my toes in and have never looked back.

3. What is your favourite lipstick brand?

It's got to be MAC. They have every shade that you could possibly want.

4. What is your most worn lipstick?
Probably Revlon Wild Orchid - a dupe apparently for Mac Show Orchid which is a pro product, boo :(

5. What is your favourite finish?
I have very dry lips so I tend to stay clear of matte, a glossy shine which Revlon Wild Orchid certainly is!

6. What was the last lipstick you bought?

I think it would be Sleek in Loved Up which is very similar to Wild Orchid too. I didn't know when I ordered - promise.

7. How many lip products do you currently have in your bag?

Around 5? They go in and out of my handbag make-up bag too quickly depending on my mood.

8. What is your favourite red lip colour?

Rimmel Kate Moss 110 which has more of a coral tint but I don't tend to suit bold red lips like Mac Ruby Woo.

9. How do you store your lipsticks?
In the acrylic storage above for now until I find a more aesthetically pleasing way of storing them in our new place.

10. Which lipsticks are you currently lusting after?
I have way too many lipsticks than I need so haven't got any on my list right now. I've got enough of a variety in my collection to satisfy my lipstick addiction!

Hope you all enjoyed the tag, I tag all of you to do this. Please leave me your links if you've done already or plan to. What do you think about my new blog layout? I had my old layout for quite a while and got bored. It's still in progress until I'm 100% happy with it.

Drugstore Base Favourites

L-R | Bourjois 123 Perfect Foundation, Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum, L'Oreal True Match Foundation, Bourjois CC Cream, Bourjois Happy Light Luminous Serum Primer.
I'm back! After a very stressful few weeks of relocating, I am now officially living in Oxfordshire. My house is still in lots of boxes but we're slowly getting there and I'm loving living here! I'm getting to grips with lighting around the house too so apologies that the photograph is quite over-exposed!

I've been loving base make-up at the moment and wanted to share with you my recent favourites that haven't left the top of my dresser. There seems to be a theme going on...Bourjois is overtaking every other brand on the market right now. I'm loving all of their new releases! It came by accident that the 123 Perfect, CC Cream and Happy Light Primer landed in my basket from the Boots 3 for 2 deal, it gets me everytime!

I must admit, I am loving all the items I've listed above, in particular the CC Cream and Happy Light Primer. Both well worth buying and are brilliant for a light, few products make-up look. After the whole BB/CC marketing term, I was disappointed with BB creams as a whole and felt like they weren't quite what I look for in a base. CC stands for colour correct and although I don't have too much discolouration as a whole, I certainly need "brightening up". I use my fingers for the CC cream as my Real Techniques Buffing Brush seems to soak up the product rather than spread it nicely all over my face. It is light enough to feel like you're not wearing anything whilst brightening up my complexion. It's definitely my product of the year so far and it's my go-to product of the moment when I don't want a heavy make-up look.

The Happy Light Luminous Serum Primer also came by accident, I didn't know it came in a matte version too so luckily for me I picked the right one up as I prefer a dewy glow, without looking too shiny. It's a very easy to work with, blendable consistency that also smells lovely too! I'm not sure it helps my base stay on any longer but I just like using it.

I am the lightest shades in all of the foundations just for reference but I find them all to be a perfect match, in particular the True Match. I'd heard a lot of great things about the foundation and the shade range is like no other that I've seen. It caters for cool, warm and neutral tones which is rare in drugstore foundations! It's easy to apply in the mornings when I can barely open my eyes and I know it looks flawless every time.

What are your favourite drugstore foundations? Have you tried any of the products listed?

Stationary Hoarder

If you're not into stationary then click away immediately! Admittedly, I am a stationary hoarder/fiend. When the 2014 Frankie Journal came out (left), I was so excited and instantly bought it without even looking at the price, I winced slightly once I did realise how much it was, around £20 I believe. However, in my defence, it came all the way from Australia and it looks too pretty to use so it doesn't leave my house.

They have sold out for this year (plus we're in March so why don't you have a diary yet?!) but make sure you look into getting one early once they're released as they don't hang around!

The middle journal is actually just a notebook. I use it for daily notes, if I need any shopping or things to do lists and it's thrown into my handbag easily. I bought this from TK Maxx on a whim so not sure where this is originally from.

My favourite, last but not least, is the Q and A a Day, 5-Year Journal. I'd seen this everywhere it seems within a few months and finally Rebecca convinced me I definitely needed it and she was right. It doesn't take up too much time to fill out and I hate missing days. Having something to look back on to see how much I've changed is nice.

This was quite a random post but I thought I'd share my latest loves for this month. I'm hoping to post more soon once I've got a lot more time on my hands so if you have any ideas of what you want to see then please leave them below!

The Body Shop Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil Review

The Body Shop Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil - £10

Another Body Shop rave today! For the last few months I've been using the Body Shop Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil. Prior to this I absolutely hated using oils on my face so this shows how much I love it! When I went a bit Body Shop mad at Christmas time when they had all their deals on, I decided to try this when it just launched as it had rave reviews. It retails at £10.00 but as they usually have good offers on so make sure to check them out when buying.

The oil itself isn't very thick and is great for when I'm having a pamper bath session as I use it first before washing off. It removes all the top layer of my make-up before I use the Superdrug Hot Cloth Cleanser to completely cleanse. The packaging says to rinse off but I find it doesn't get rid of the oil completely so use a muslin cloth or flannel. There is no sticky feeling unlike the DHC oil. I love the feeling of the oil and it's really opened up my eyes to trying more facial oils. Make sure to keep your hands dry when pumping into your hands as it seems to work better without any water. The pump is also really good at pumping just enough product without overloading.

When I first started using the Camomile Cleansing Oil, my face started to break out but I have super sensitive skin and it doesn't like change! Since then I've had no problems at all and on another note, I love the Camomile scent! There are a few other products in the range such as the Camomile Gentle Eye Make Up Remover and the Sumptuous Cleansing Butter. The Body Shop constantly get a big thumbs up and today is no exception! Maybe I should get a job there...

So it's now officially 2 weeks until I move to Oxford and there is random boxes scattered around my house but no serious packing has commenced! Anybody want to help?!

What's your favourite skincare items? Do you like facial oils?
