Primark S/S Collection 2013

Hey everyone, I'm a tad late to this party but I was browsing Primark's latest Spring/Summer on and couldn't help but spot some amazing good deals that I thought I'd share with you all. Primark have gone a tad more expensive lately but there's still some great bargains to be bought. I've blogged about my favourite 6 but if you want to check out the complete list then it's at this link here.

1. Heart shaped cut out dress - I love the shape of this dress. It flares at the waist which flatters my figure and I love the heart back too! Hearts are one of my favourite things to draw, random fact there too.

2.Coat - This coat screams classy and elegance. For £30 it's still quite cheap for a decent coat but I'd love to try it on first to see how it fits as they can drown my size sometimes.

3. Dress - The colour of this dress is not like anything I currently own. I'm always on the search for holiday clothes and yes it is miles away until my holiday..7 months and counting. I always need new clothes for a holiday even if I've got stuff in the wardrobe, Ebay can have my old ones, when I get round to it...

4. Striped midi dress - Midi dresses are something I'd love to wear, but usually can't. I'm sure this would still be too long for me since I'm 5 ft 1 but I'd love to wear it as a maxi dress anyway. It's a bargain at £7 and I will certainly be buying this if I spot it. Primark why don't you do online shopping?!

 5. Belted tailored trousers - Another piece that I don't own anything similar of. I want to get into something other than jeans and dresses which is just out of habit really. During the week I only wear PJ's and gym clothing at the moment. (just me?)

6. Studded black bag - This coat doesn't look like Primark's usual bags that can be quite tacky sometimes when I'm venturing round my latest store. I'm still on the studded trend and just bought some new studded boots actually from Dorothy Perkins for a bargain £15 including delivery!

I've really enjoyed looking at what Primark's Spring/Summer 2013 Collection looks like and can't wait to spot some of it in store. I haven't been to Primark in at least 2 months now so I definitely need to take a trip, something my Boyfriend doesn't loves.

What's your favourite piece from the S/S 13 Collection?

LP Skin Therapy

LP Skin Therapy L-R Uplifting Facial Water, Multi-Task Day Cream, Overnight Replenish Cream*

Hi everyone, I’ve recently been trying out some new skincare products that I wanted to tell you about that are coming soon to QVC, a channel I love to secretly watch too often to look out for bargains, especially Daniel Sandler products! The products I’ve been testing are some products from the Dr. Linda LP Skin Therapy Anti-Ageing Starter Kit.

The Starter Kit contains 6 deluxe samples which would be perfect for travelling, holidays or even a gift, Mother’s Day is just around the corner too Ladies! The kit contains 3 weeks worth of product and I’d say that’s quite accurate from what I’ve been testing out although some could easily last longer. The range is different to some others of late as it’s not led by your skin type, it’s about addressing underlying causes of skin deterioration, in most cases is stress. Dr. Linda developed this range herself which personally makes me trust the ingredients that’s going into the product.

So that’s a little bit about the kit itself, the link is here on the LP Skin Therapy website and it will be on QVC on Thursday 28th on Alison Young’s Beauty Fix so look out for that!

I’ve been using the Multi-Task Day Cream and Overnight Replenish Cream for about a week now but wanted to tell you my initial thoughts. The day cream is lovely and makes me feel quite soft, I wouldn’t say it’s a great base for my makeup personally as it can be quite sticky and make me look a tad oily. Although that being sad, if I wasn’t going to be wearing much, or any makeup that day I’d gladly mix this with something like the Origins Vitazing which gives me a bit colour than normal. I’m not a huge fan of the scent but as the cream settles pretty quickly the smell doesn’t stay for long.

The size of the sample is 15ml which doesn’t sound very much but I think 3 weeks is accurate for this product, especially for daily use. This isn’t something I’d purchase the full size of but let me tell you about the other products first.

The Overnight Replenish Cream is a bit of a treat for me. I don’t normally have such rich moisturisers on overnight but I wanted to try this out for as long as possible before reviewing. Up until today I’ve used this for about 5 nights and must say my skin does feel a lot better. It's basically a rich moisturiser that you slather on, well I do anyway, then in the morning you wake up with baby soft skin. I've been looking for an overnight treatment or at least moisturiser for a while that's targeted for ant-ageing (hey I want to stay 22 for as long as possible!). I'd buy the full size of this.

Last but not least is the Uplifting Facial Water, this is my favourite product of the lot! This is suitable for all skin types which is great as mine is in the middle of so many at the moment, I'm having a bit of a skin crisis! I don't know about you, but the sound of using Gold on my skin makes me feel pretty luxurious!

I spray this directly onto my face usually for a few different reasons. If my skin is feeling a little irritated and red, which happens a lot then I just spray this on to settle my skin which happens within minutes provided I leave it. I also use this to set my makeup once I've completely finished which feels quite refreshing but also doesn't move my makeup in any way. I will definitely be purchasing the full size of this as I think this is way better than the likes of Caudlie Beauty Elixir and the Elf spray. I'm intrigued to see what Dr. Linda has to say on the show as to how these can help improve stress so I'll be watching!

Will you be tuning into QVC on Thursday at 4pm? Have you tried any of Dr. Linda's LP Skin Therapy range?

Milk_Shake Whipped Cream Leave In Conditioner

Milk_Shake Whipped Cream Leave In Conditioner
Milk_Shake Whipped Cream Leave In Conditioner
Milk_Shake Whipped Cream Leave In Conditioner* - £9.55 Hairtrade | RRP £14.29
Who here loves the smell of cake? What about strawberry milkshake? I've found the ideal product that I want my hair to smell like forever. I had read quite a few things about Milk_Shake's products and they sounded right up my street and I wasn't disappointed. Hairtrade kindly let me try out the Milk_shake Conditioning Whipped Cream leave in conditioner which I was pretty excited about I must say. As soon as it landed on my door step I had to wash my hair instantly to try it out and yes, my life is this rock and roll.

Milk_Shake say the leave in conditioner was formulated to condition hair keeping moisture balance and to preserve hair colour integrity. I've been using this for the past few weeks now and I 100% agree with the first half. Firstly, I'd buy anything that smelt like this, within reason, but it does the job and is fairly cheap too! It is basically liked whipped cream/mousse and a little goes a long way as I found oh too quickly. Nowadays I squirt the tiniest amount into my hands and rub my palms together then apply the cream to the ends of my hair only. Any higher than about a quarter of the way up from the ends of my hair, which is about chest length at the moment, makes my hair greasy and weighs it down.

The only negative point I'd disagree with is the locking in hair colour. I've found absolutely no difference although I only apply it to the ends of my hair so maybe that's where I'm going wrong. I'm not sure I'd re-purchase this again but I definitely want to try their hair mask which apparently also smells amazing. Am I too much of a sucker for gimmicks like the smell?! Who cares..if only I could eat it..

Oh and also, for anyone that is looking for some new GHD's, I've spotted that Hairtrade have their new Candy collection for £95 (RRP £110)

Have you tried Milk_Shake's products?

Sleek Pout Paint in Pinkini

Sleek Pout Paint in Pinkini

Sleek Pout Paint in Pinkini - £4.99 Sleek
My last Sleek review was a bit of a negative one so I thought I'd balance it out with a new product that I've loved using. As said in my previous post, I used my discount code to get some new Sleek products, one of those being the Sleek pout paint in Pinkini. I did a Hong Kong swap with the lovely Jacq from which unfortunately got lost in the post, Royal Mail refused to compensate or accept the loss (another story), anyway this was one of the products I bought for her but I wanted to keep it for myself but knew she wanted Sleek products as they're unavailable outside the UK.

Pinkini is a gorgeous, bright fuschia shade. It's much brighter in real life than it looks on both my lips and swatches and is very head turning. It's not a shade I'd wear every day, special occasions only. It starts off as a sort of glossy lipstick but once it starts to fade through eating and drinking it stains which can be quite annoying as I've found it all over my chin before! Pout Paints are extremely pigmented though and apparently a slight dupe for the OCC lip tars which we can't get here in the UK.

I apply the tiniest amount of the Pout Paint to my finger and then use my finger to my lips, although I imagine a brush would be easier to apply. It can feel a little drying so I make sure to put on tons of lip balm before hand. You definitely get what you pay for and for £4.99 I think this is pretty amazing!

If you're outside the UK and want to purchase these, try looking on Ebay although I can't personally recommend any sellers!

Have you tried Sleek's Pout Paints? Which is your favourite shade?

Sleek Baby Doll

Sleek Baby Doll
Sleek Baby Doll
Sleek Baby Doll
Sleek Baby Doll Lipstick - £4.99 Superdrug | £4.49 Sleek
A couple of weeks ago, I received an email from Sleek makeup asking to fill in a survey in return for a discount code off their products. It took 5 minutes if that so I was more than happy to. Sleek are a brand exclusive to the UK (I believe) and sold in Superdrug stores. Their well known products are constantly sold out in my nearest stores so I tend to shop online if I've already swatched something.

With a discount code, I tend to have a little crazy moment inside me, call me a discount junkie but I buy anything. I decided since I have tons of bright pink or red lip products, I wanted something different in the form of nudes which is definitely out of my comfort zone. I chose Baby Doll which has a sheen finish. It's a very pale pink that reminds me of one of my best friends old habits, wearing solely foundation on the lips. Maybe I'm just used to seeing brights on my lips but this looks awful on me, half dead in fact. Being pretty pale means my whole face just looked ghost-like, not a good look trust me!

Other than the shade not suiting me, it was very patchy and didn't feel moisturising in the slightest which always puts me off products. I have this problem quite a lot too unfortunately. Only high end lip products seem to get on well with me except Revlon's and the new Rimmel Apocalips!

Quite a negative post overall, but I still like Sleek's Blushers and Pout Paint, I am actually wearing one in my previous post in Pinkini. If you're not careful though, you can look like you've just drank a lot of blackcurrant juice...

Have you tried Sleek Baby Doll? Does anyone else feel Sleek's True Colour Lipsticks aren't very moisturising?

Illamasqua Promise

Dirty Illamasqua packaging :(
Ignore the stippling brush marks :)
Illamasqua Promise Cream Blusher - £18 Illamasqua (Free delivery) + £18 Debenhams (Free delivery for beauty card holders)
I have a new love I wanted to share with you today. A long time ago I had a mini makeover done at Illamasqua in Selfridges Trafford Centre and the make up artist used Sob on me. After seeing it on tons of tutorials, cut the long story short I just wasn't sure. My Boyfriend said he liked it but I said I'd walk around the Trafford Centre, see how I felt then return if I wanted to buy it. I was impressed with the cream blusher overall, just not the shade.

I was internet shopping though one day, as I do too often (someone stop me!) and I browsed the Illamasqua site for some ideas. I went back and forth on several reviews and swatches but eventually came to Promise which is a cream blusher. I fell in love instantly and knew I had to have it. I winced a little as it's not the cheapest thing I've bought at £18 but I bargained with myself that it was a treat, plus it had free delivery. It came really quickly which is always a bonus and I couldn't wait to use it. It can look a little scary to some in the pan but you can go as bright or as subtle as you like. Blending is always the key and I personally like to use my foundation brush to blend out the edges so it has a more subtle effect. The staying power on their cream blushers is incredible. All day and the gym is what it usually survives!

Illamasqua describes Promise as a warm candy pink with a dewy finish. I'd definitely agree and it goes well with my Daniel Sandler Invisible Radiance Foundation for a dewy glow. I don't think their swatches are that great on their site as seeing that shade alone would put me off completely had I not Googled before hand.
I really like this blusher and it's become my go-to staple now. It's probably more for Spring and Summer as it's quite bright, but toned down it can be really wearable on most skin tones but I'd say it's best on fairer skin tones.

Have you tried Illamasqua's Cream Blushers? If so, which is your favourite shade?
