YSL Rouge Volupte 27 Rose Paris Review

In case you haven't guessed by the photos, say hello to my super gorgeous new YSL Rouge Volupte in number 27. First things first, I'm sorry I don't have a swatch or photo of me wearing it. Every time I photographed one or the other, it changed the shade which is pointless for me to show, but I promise I will update this post once it's light enough for me to take one wearing it :)

I had a gift voucher to spend in a number of stores (love2shop voucher) and decided when I was in Boots, what better way than to get something different that I wouldn't normally spend my money on, so that's what I did! I spent a good while browsing several counters but kept straying back to YSL. I swatched tons of different shades but haven't actually read any particular reviews online so didn't have anything in mind. One shade that is nothing like anything I own was 27 Rose Paris. I always wear either bright pink or red sort of shades so wanted something a tad different. 27 Rose Paris is a beautiful dark pink leaning more on the red side with a hint of coral. I'm useless at describing shades though if you haven't guessed!

The pigmentation is amazing and creamy as expected. I have such dry lips but since using my favourite new lip balm (Nivea caramel cream lip butter), they've got a bit more moisture back into them. Using this alone would be nourishing enough. It really does glide on the lips and the colour pay off is amazing. I always said that I'd get a YSL lipstick once in my life and I'm so glad I have. The shade isn't something I would wear to the office as I'm not that brave, but I'd definitely wear it in the daytime. The colour does stand out and overall the YSL Rouge Volupte's are much higher quality than the likes of MAC in my opinion.

I do believe every make up craved women, like myself, should definitely own at least one of these in their lives. They are elegant, classy and what's more, great to pull out in public! I've had a few people stare at the packaging before!

Have you tried YSL Rouge Volupte lipsticks?

    1. You have to visit a counter, I wouldn't recommend looking online as it's better to try before you buy, especially at that price! As daunting as their counters may be x
