My new foundation and primer combo

L'oreal Lumi Magique Foundation

I'm not sure about my other fellow blogger friends, but I don't pick up any old foundation. I go through lots and lots of reviews, YouTube videos galore and spend much research. It's expensive, let's face it, if you buy a cheap foundation, in the end you will end up purchasing a higher end foundation and waste the money on the cheap one you've got. Which brings me to the L'Oreal Lumi Magique Foundation.

I've seen this countless times on reviews and the likes and thought I don't need anymore foundation..until I hit Boots and saw it was on offer, buy a full priced item, get another half price. Of course I had to buy the primer and foundation. Whoops.

On first impressions, the bottle is pretty, it looks a little more expensive than it actually was and it's quite a big bottle (30ml). So what does it claim.

Light infusing foundation

Flawless skin as if lit-from-within.

Liquid light technology

Pretty big claim there, but I can honestly say it's true. Bearing in mind I have ultra weird skin. Dry patches mainly but then sometimes oily t-zone and occasionally cheeks. I previously thought my Benefit Hello Flawless was the closest foundation I've tried to perfect, I now dislike it as it shows up all my dry patches a bit too in your face. :(

Using this with the matching Lumi Magique primer isn't too over powering either. I like a radiant glow, and sometimes can never be enough actually, but this is nice and makes me look less like a dull casper! If you have dry/normal skin and want a radiant glow then I'd highly recommend this. The only thing that may put some people off, is that it does contain SPF18 so will flash back on photos. I'm used to the casper look though, you just have to work with it!

Lasting Power

I've been using this first thing in the morning, and by mid-day, using my Kleenex Shine Absorbing Sheets and blotting my t-zone a little bit and by 5 o clock it's still ok. Granted, not as nice as when I first applied it, but compared to every single foundation I've tried, this has the longest lasting power which is a bonus. This is close to perfect, my only downside would be the lasting power just that little bit longer.

Where can I buy it?

You can buy it at Boots for £10.99 here.

Although I do really, really like the New CID I-prime Primer (see review here). Since I've got this, I've found the best primer to use with the foundation is the Lumi Magique. It completes the glowing look which I happily wear every day.

L'oreal Lumi Magique Primer

The packaging is pretty crisp (who says that these days?!) The only negative I would say, is that it's quite a small bottle (20ml) and I think I will run out of this very fast. One pump, as shown below, covers your face though which is good. It spreads easily and I love the effect it gives.

1 pump sized amount, quite liquidy
It is quite runny so you have to work with it fast, maybe I have hot hands though?! Overall, I'm very impressed with both products and it's one I'm keeping on my daily usage list!

Blended in slightly, excuse the awful picture and the colouring making me look browner than I am!
Have you tried any of the Lumi Magique range? Next up on my list is the highlightening pen, aka YSL Touche Eclat dupe! Has anyone tried that? I haven't seen much posts about it so far!

It's not just you - I found the foundation and primer really runny too. It is one of the best foundations I have tried and I love it. It really lasts all day and it gives me a nice healthy glow. I'm also planning on buying the YSL Touch Eclat dupe when I've run out of the real thing. I've heard that the dupe is just as good as the real thing and costs alot less!

  3. I love it too! I've fake tanned a lot at the moment so the colour isn't quite a match but I may invest in a darker shade for my tanned times :) I'm definitely getting the YSL dupe soon too! x
