GlamGlow Mud Mask

GlamGlow Mud Mask*

I recently attended a Blogger event with Xen Tan being brilliant hosts to many other beauty bloggers. It was held at the Malmaison in Manchester (which I am now going to this weekend after seeing how beautiful it was!). Anyway, it was the best event I've been to by far and we were treated very well.

We were all lucky enough to get a spray tan and nails done. I opted out of the spray tan, I wasn't brave enough on this occasion and had a long train ride home, especially with loose fitting clothes and no make-up!

I tried the GlamGlow Exfoliating Mud Mask first. Wow, I was impressed with the packaging before I'd even opened it!

Packaging

The packaging is gorgeous, it feels so expensive and makes you trust the ingredients inside a little more, or is that just me?! It makes it worth the price tag alone (I will come to that shortly). The box feels luxurious and when you open it you come to the picture above with "Hello Sexy" written on. Thanks! It's the little touches that make me pretty impressed.

I have been trying out the products in our customised goody bags for over a week now and feel it's enough time to share my views on the products. I honestly love both of them! I am pretty pale, most of the time I have some sort of gradual tan/fake tan on throughout the year (except winter months). I find it hard to get a fake tan that won't leave me streaky, or patchy within days whilst it's fading naturally. I will do a separate review on the Xen Tan and link it back here.

So what is it?

Glam Glow Mud Mask is Hollywood's answer to great skin and a glowing complexion in 10 minutes. It has the highest quality ingredients, making it a little bit expensive, but if glamorous and luxurious is you, then this is definitely your product. If, like me, you have problem skin, whether it be dry, oily, normal or combination then this also works for all skin types. Surely not? It's been tried and tested on my dry/normal-combination skin and I can confirm it has made my dry patches disappear and my skin feels a lot smoother.

GLAMGLOW® mud base is from Southern France, home to glamorous Cannes, St. Tropez and Monaco.

Contains:
Volcanic Rock, Volcanic Mineral Ash, French Sea Clay, Purified Clay, Real Pieces of Green Tea Leaf, Green Tea Seed Oil, Grape Seed, Chamomile Flower, Marigold Flower, Cucumber, Ivy, Herb Leaf, Lavender Oil.

Teaoxi™ - Patent Pending formula is GLAMGLOW®’s continuous time-release technology, delivering fresh Super-Squalene, EGCG Super-Antioxidants and Polyphenols directly into the mud from real pieces of Tea Leaf. Super powerful TEAOXI™ is responsible for brightening the complexion, protecting against free radicals, hydrating and balancing the oil levels in the skin.
Volcanic Minerals - Pulverized into Micro Pumice, these ancient rock minerals give multi-level surface exfoliation and stimulate microcirculation, helping to detoxify and awaken the skin, reduce puffiness, under-eye circles and smooth fine lines while softening the skin’s texture to reveal younger looking skin.
French Sea Clay - Dredged off the coast of Southern France and when combined with TEAOXI™ a tingling sensation is created, triggering 12 hours of Collagen Synthesis for a noticeable wrinkle deduced 3-day glow. French Sea Clay absorbs impurities and toxic substances reducing pore size and helping to look younger by reducing the appearance of age.

Application

It's recommended that you apply it with a foundation brush so that you can evenly spread the mud across your face. It works pretty fast so you need to make sure that your face is covered and then leave it for approx 10-15 minutes until dry. You can feel it tingle, it is quite strong but I like that, it shows it's doing something. It dries pretty quickly but I sometimes use a hairdryer to kickstart mask drying if I'm in a rush!

It has quite big green tea leaves which do stick to your face but they're great for your skin. The mixture itself was quick thick and I used the end of my foundation brush to mix it together before application (that involved some washing off!).

Once the product had dried on my face, I started to wash off just with water but found it quite difficult to remove, so I got my flannel out. I know it's frowned upon in the Beauty industry using flannels, but I used it quite gently and the mask came away much easier after that. My skin was instantly brighter and my skin resembled a baby's bum, no wonder I get ID'd for alcohol all the time! I would love to use this once a week, but that would add up so I will personally use it as a twice a month treat.

The Positives

It really has done wonders for my skin and although I have found my wonderous favourite moisturiser, this is the product that has banished my dry skin for summer. I love the packaging and for me simply getting rid of the dead, dry cells and giving me a glow and smooth skin is enough to re-purchase. I love the tingling sensation.

The Negatives

The first negative is by far, the price. Understandably it has the best ingredients in there, but it's so expensive. I can just about justify the price, but this will be by any means a regular splurge! There are 2 options to purchase. The 15ml (as seen above) retails at £19.99 on several websites (I will list all below) and 50ml £49.99. Ouch! The 15ml for me personally, has lasted 2 treatments, and I didn't leather it on by any means! I would recommend making the jump to 50ml if you're wanting a treat.

Overall

Overall, I do love it and it's the best mask I've tried by far. Unless someone is buying it for me (hint hint), I wouldn't personally buy the 50ml as it's that little too expensive, but if there was any offers then I'd be there! I've not heard of this before and I'm so surprised as it's really good. On payday I will be getting another of the 15ml as I've only got a tiny amount left for one last mask but it's worth giving it a go if you're in need of a real pampering.

Where Can I Buy It?

There are several websites that sell Glam Glow Mud Mask.
