Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream

Unless you've been living under a rock for quite some time, you may have seen that BB creams have hit the shops around the world following the Asian markets way back from the 80's.

So what are BB creams?

BB cream is also known as blemish balm, blemish base which is mainly sold in East and Southwest Asia, now following over to Western Europe and the USA. It was originally used for protecting skin after surgery and laser procedures, also providing light, natural coverage.

What did I think of the Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream?

Based upon the fact I've only tried one BB cream previously, Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector which didn't make me love BB creams from the first impression. This one was very different, I'd say a more water based solution compared to how thick the Garnier BB cream was. The shade I got was "light" although I was swayed between this and the "universal glow". Majoritively of the year I am pretty pale, thank god for fake tan to change that in our summer (days).

It's an 8-in-1 cream that:

1. Creates a natural glow
 2. Compliments skin-tone
3. SPF30 UV protection
4. Hydrates all day
 5. Blurs imperfections
6. Oil free, non-creasy
 7. Looks visibly smooth
8. Feels fresh.

Excuse the fake tan mishap that shows up wonderfully on camera (shame I didn't notice all day!)
It comes out quite darker than my skin but it blended in really well and lasting power wasn't great but lasted a few hours. I prefer lighter coverage just to even out my skintone a little and this will do me through the Summer, if the sun returns? It also has SPF30 which is pretty high, great for me with fair skin!

Blended in well at the top of my hand, ignore the fake tan at the bottom!.
Would I re-purchase?

Yes, I just wish that the tube was a little bigger, I'm too fickle with trying new things but I think this will last me quite a while. You only get 30ml which is a shame. On an average RRP of £7.99 makes it quite expensive for a high street BB cream.

Where can I buy it?

You can buy it at Boots for £7.99, Cheapsmells for £6.99, Superdrug for £7.99 or even have a look around Tesco etc as they have Maybelline stands in quite a few places!

What do you think of BB creams, have you tried the Maybelline one?

  2. I'd definitely recommend this, the Garnier one isn't great at all. If you like light coverage you should give it a try! I've spotted it for ages and finally took the plunge :) x
